Tosantos to Cardenuela Riopico

Left Tosantos in brilliant blue skies and immediately had to climb a mountain (well a small mountain). Did some good mileage today and will be in Burgos tomorrow. Might stop for two nights and have a day off but you have to keep moving to a certain extent or else you’ll seize up.

Last night in Tosantos was memorable as there was a gathering of many nationalities at the communal dinner. The most memorable moment was the giant paella coming in through the window as it was too big to go through the door.

Sleeping on the floor last night was something people of my vintage shouldn’t be doing!

Just about to have dinner where I am tonight so see you tomorrow (probably).

  1. Paella looks great! That’s inspired my dinner tonight!

Hope tonight’s bed provides a little more comfort! Good work on the small mountain! Hope you take it easy over the next few days! Lots of love xx

  2. Only just catching up on your exploits as something went wrong with my original sign up.
Glad to hear that you are managing to find such luxurious accommodation, I particularly liked the king sized mattress for the “little ones”.

  3. I should think that Paella was worth the walk Bob!! I was wondering when you’d treat yourself to a day off but I can understand your point about ‘seizing up’. When you have a rest day, spoil yourself with accommodation which has a bath so you can soothe those aching bones!! Buen Camino x

  4. That paella looked fantastic, I’m sure it tasted good too. The floor on a small mattress isn’t always a good plan. Good bed, and a hot bath sounds like a good idea, but keep moving does have benefits…. call it an early day with a shorter walk, finding a good hostel or hotel as a treat. I’m enjoying your daily updates, keep them flowing. Good walk have fun.
